Meet the passionate and experienced team behind HRD Auction Rooms.
25+ years experience, Warren is a familiar face on the Isle of Wight. He has a particular interest in antique swords, medals and militaria - no doubt because of his time in the Royal Navy – and always loves to see items or collections of gold, silver and jewellery. When he's not wielding a gavel, Warren can often be found on the rugby field at his beloved Ventnor Rugby Club.
50+ years experience, Rex is now semi-retired but remains the face of our fortnightly valuation days. A font of knowledge on antique furniture and collectables, he is a keen gardener and chef, often furnishing the team with a tasty tagine!
5+ years experience, Daniel is the newest auctioneer on the block, bringing a passion for retro toys, vintage fashion and Americana. Having graduated university with a BA (Hons) in Film and Theatre, related items of memorabilia are also quick to capture his attention. Regulars will note the change in the language of our catalogues since Daniel arrived as he's partial to a floral adjective!
15+ years in admin before joining the team in 2018, she can often be found perusing the shelves of vintage glassware - anything pink and green especially! With an eye for interiors, she is always the first to spot a cool piece of mid-century furniture or a retro lamp.
45+ years in admin, Jan first started with HRD Auction Rooms when it was still known as Island Auction Rooms. She has always had a keen interest in antiques as her Grandfather had an antique restoration business. Also an avid animal lover, she often adds to her own ceramic collections of Winstanley cats and Beswick Highland cattle.
15+ years experience, Jamie looks after our vehicle fleet and oversees our clearance work. On auction day, you’ll find him clerking on the rostrum. He's partial to a fancy wristwatch and a fast car and he's always the one that Daniel calls on to catalogue tools!
10+ years experience, Jamie heads up our lot photography and post and packing departments. On auction day, he operates the-saleroom.com live bidding platform. Jamie can often be found at a car show and is never more excited than when a retro electronic comes through the door.
Jack completed the HRD Auction Rooms family when he joined in 2023, developing a keen interest in artwork in the years since. Our muscle man - he recently won a Jiu Jitsu competition in his weight class. He assists with lot photography, post and packing and the-saleroom.com live bidding platform.
35+ years experience, Steve ensures the Auction Rooms is shipshape and is often seen with a broom in his hand. When he's not supporting his favourite team Man United or watching a spot of wrestling, he can be found supporting Rex at our fortnightly valuation days.
James has worked as the account administrator for HRD Auction Rooms since its conception. He is an experienced and valuable member of the team, bringing his accurate and methodical character to the business - you definitely want him on your team at the pub quiz. When he’s not on the golf course, you may find him at his desk enjoying his weekly battered sausage from the local chippy!
